Berkshire Hematology Oncology is committed to clinical trials, which are research studies that are conducted over a certain time period to answer important medical questions about the treatment and cure of diseases. Over the past three decades, BHO patients have participated in large-scale clinical trials that have led to groundbreaking discoveries in the fields of science and medicine.
Currently, more than 400 BHO patients are participating in over 40 different national and international clinical trials.
Through affiliations with national leading research groups-- including NSABP (National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project), ECOG (Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group), SWOG (Southwest Oncology Group), the National Cancer Institute and numerous pharmaceutical companies— the physicians of BHO are able to bring these important opportunities directly to our community, in the hope of benefiting our own patients as well as future patients worldwide.
